CWA water bill calculator
Enter your monthly consumption in cubic metres (m³, from your CWA meter or bill) to estimate your water bill for a single domestic property. This is an independent, informational estimate — not a CWA tool.
0–6 m³ is free. 7–10 m³ is a flat minimum charge. Above 10 m³, your entire consumption (not just the amount over 10 m³) is billed across four bands — the first 10 m³, the next 10 m³, the next 30 m³, and every additional m³ — each at its own per-unit rate. Modelled for a single first-property domestic connection; the wastewater/sewerage fee some properties also pay is not included.
Example (15 m³): Rs 100.00
Tariffs effective 2016 — Central Water Board — Government Notice No. 10 of 2016 (Water Supply for Domestic Purposes (Amendment) Regulations 2016)
How is the CWA bill calculated here?
The first 6 m³ each month are free, and 7–10 m³ is a flat minimum charge. Once consumption exceeds 10 m³, the free/flat tiers no longer apply — instead your entire consumption is billed across four progressive bands (first 10 m³, next 10 m³, next 30 m³, every additional m³), each at its own per-unit rate.
Does this include the wastewater/sewerage fee?
No. Where a property is connected to the public sewer network, CWA issues one combined bill covering both water charges and a separate wastewater fee set by the Wastewater Management Authority — but not every property is sewer-connected (many use septic tanks), so this calculator estimates the water charge only. This calculator also assumes a single first-property connection — a second or subsequent property loses the 0–6 m³ free tier.
Is this an official CWA bill?
No — this is an independent, informational estimate only, not an official CWA bill or tax/financial advice. Always confirm your actual bill with the Central Water Authority.
